The Wisconsin Badgers beat VCU Sunday afternoon on this spin move by Bronson Koenig to put Wisconsin up by 1 with less than 6 seconds to go.
The spin move is one of the toughest to teach because it requires a great read, balance and footwork.
One common mistake players make is they spin at defenders giving them the ability to recover and make a play on the ball. What Bronson does here is spins off the contact after his defender cuts him giving him the ability to separate and extend to the basket.
He executes what we call the three P’s to perfection with this move.
1. Pound It
2. Pull It
3. Pivot
A great move is only a great move if it’s used in the right situation. Bronson did that here with this game winning play.
