Oh SnapChat. What is the point???
I’ve recently made an investment sharing content over on SnapChat (whoismikelee) and I’m LOVING it. But when I first started trying to learn it, honestly, I was a little bit discouraged.
See, Twitter Facebook and Instagram all came relatively easy to me. I think that’s because I jumped on them right away and didn’t expect to be perfect at any of it when I first joined. When I started Snapchat I went in with a different mindset. In 60 seconds I tried to understand every single thing about the user interface, why to use it and what the best ways to use it. And, honestly I didn’t see exactly what made it so different from Instagram. Until, I just kind a let go of the perfection and dove in. I wasn’t worried about making mistakes or posting something to My Story instead of sending it out all my friends. I just let go and finally it all came together.
The engagement is awesome and I love connecting with people on the app.
It’s a lot like working in your game or the process of becoming great at anything. You have to let go of the outcome. You have to let go of the perfection in order to let your mind to get into the flow state.
It was a great reminder of me to slow down when teaching. To have patience. To always be reminding players that it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress. You need to dream at night, but when the day comes it’s just about getting a little better.
Hit me up on the Snap
