Are you Grateful?

by

There is a direct correlation between how grateful you are and how happy you are.  Taking time to just reflect or reach out to someone that you are grateful for is something that shouldn’t be done once a year.  Even if it’s not something you put into your schedule it’s something that you can be more aware throughout the day.  Learn to be happy with what you have while you pursue all you want.

Today I want to take some time to publicly thank the people that have helped get me to where I am.  I’m a huge believer that you are only as good as the people you surround yourself.

Each year new people come into your life and can have an impact on your life.  The past year I’ve been extremely fortunate to spend a lot of time with Bill Peterson, an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks.  He has been more than willing to share, teach and mentor me with this great game as well as my life.  I am grateful he has come into my life and to be able to call him a friend.

My parents, Cindy and Ed Lee, who have finally come around and believe that this business will work 🙂 .  My dad was definitely the biggest challenger when this first started, but I am positive I skipped over several mistakes from the 1,000’s of questions he asked me.  I will always remember to ask “What is the maximum risk” before making business decisions.

Luke Meier for challenging me, supporting what we do and helping us grow each year.  I am extremely lucky to have you and your understanding, beautiful new wife who supports us as well.

Brittany Bullock and Terese Dlobik for all your time taking phone calls, emails, and registrations for our events as You have no idea how much I appreciate everything that you do.  You make my life much easier!

Jim Weatherly, whose son was my first client when moving to Milwaukee, and has continued to be my biggest advocate over the past 2 years.  Your guidance and support is truly priceless.

Lastly, Peyton, yes my new puppy.  I have finally found something to that I enjoy besides work and basketball.  She helps balance my life out and it’s crazy being responsible for something else’s life.  She has supported my belief that is more important to spend money on experiences and less on things.

Thank you to the following for inviting me to speak at your camps and clinics or workout your players. Many of you have also shared with me two of the most valuable things in the world, your time and knowledge.

Brian Brinkerhoff (Full Court Basketball/Level X Hoops), Brian Vande Lune (Standfirm Baskebtall Academy), Joe Koeniczny (Columbus Catholic High School), Forrest Larson (Take it to the Rim), Eddie Andrist (University of Wisconsin-Stout), Kenny Atkinson (New York Knicks), , Dale Layer (Liberty University), Ike Wilson (Nike Playground Elite), Justin Litscher (Wisconsin Swing), Jason Jesperson (Wisconsin Playmakers), Joe Russom (Fox Valley Hustle/Appleton North), Jerry Petitgoue (WBCA/Cuba City High School), Steve Becker (Athlete Peformance), Dave MacArthur (Colby High School, 1970-2006) Ganon Baker (Ganon Baker Basketball), Alan Stein (Stronger Team/DeMatha), Steph Wood (Stronger Woman), Kevin Orr (Rice Lake High School), Andy Banasik (Prairie du Chien) Eric Oleszak, Brett Hirsch, Spencer Schulz and Tyler Schulz (Wisconsin Shooters), Kyle Manary (Nike Basketball), Drew Hanlen (Pure Sweat Basketball), Brian James (Philadelphia 76ers) Dee Brown (Detroit Pistons), Oties Epps (Evansville University), Ryan Goodson (Goodson Basketball), Steve Becker (Athlete Performance, Nick and Mike Votto (Envy Creative), Cameron Tucker (UW-Milwaukee), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) Bryant Barr (413 Events) Todd Edwards and our newest Skill Development Trainer, my brother, Shawn Lee.

I also would like to thank all the players that train with us, and most of all, the parents who support your children.  Without you none of this would be possible.  It’s crazy how some of you have gone from skinny little 7th graders to playing your first year of Division I basketball!  I can’t wait to see you play this year.

Lastly, thank you to all our blog readers, thousands of YouTube subscribers and miSkillz members, for letting us share our passion for this great game with people from all across the world.

Make sure you take the time this week to thank the people that have shared their resources with you.  You’re crazy if you think you got where you are alone.

Make it a great day!

Mike Lee
