Are you getting things done or making excuses?
This is a true story…
There was a company having a meeting in their corporate office between the President and company’s executives. There was a project the company was working on and had a problem to solve. When getting input from the executives all the president heard were answers like this:
“If we add that to the project then this will happen”
“We can’t do it that way or we’ll lose this”
“Well if we decide to go that route we’ll have to deal with this”
And on and on and on they went until 1pm in the afternoon the president finally announced, “the meeting is adjourned. Come back tomorrow at 4pm and we’ll get this figured out.”
After everyone headed home for the day the president called up a company and instructed them to completely demolish the building, bulldoze it, and lay sod down to make the area look like someone’s backyard. They worked around the clock until it was finished the next day. He then took the table and chairs from the board room and set them up in the middle of the new lawn for the meeting.
When everyone showed up, completely in awe, for the meeting the next day he started by saying, ”If you want to get something done there is always a way. You just need to DO IT.”
Wow! What a statement!
Are you making excuses? Do you have too much homework and not enough time to workout?
Prioritize. Get up earlier.
Don’t have someone to rebound for you?
Grab a younger player.
Don’t have a gym?
Find a parking lot to work on your handles.
It’s YOUR life. You decide what happens. You want success? You want to be a great player?
You have to design your life around those goals.
